Shannon Holiday, MA, LPC, R-DMT, received a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Healthcare from MSU Denver, and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Somatic Counseling with a concentration in Dance/Movement Therapy from Naropa University in Boulder. She has a background in Integrative Health Care, Yoga and Meditation, and is a trained aromatherapist.
Shannon blends a trauma-informed approach with creative arts and play therapy interventions. She integrates Attachment-based, Existential, and Mindfulness-based Cognitive therapeutic approaches in her work. She has experience working with clients who experience trauma, attachment and adjustment challenges, developmental and physical disabilities, anxiety and depression, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder.
She has experience working within foster and adoption systems of care, with immigrants and refugees, young mothers, women who are incarcerated, and families experiencing homelessness. Shannon has provided services and professional training to the faculty and students at Denver Public Schools, providing trauma-informed care for their immigrant and refugee students.
Shannon provides one-on-one counseling for children, adults, and caregivers, as well as parent-child sessions. She provides individual and group reflective consultation for professionals, educational services, and training for professionals. She provides Early Intervention services to young clients (0-3) and their families, offering in-person and virtual parent coaching sessions and classes. She also offers in-home Montessori-inspired playroom design services.

Shannon's hobbies include dancing Ballet and Contemporary, singing, cooking/baking, camping, volunteering, and spending time in nature. She loves spending quality time with her friends, her husband, and their little girl. In her past, Shannon danced Samba and West African styles, and performed with the Ballet Etudes company in Arizona for 12 years. She trained in Muay Thai kickboxing for 4 years, taught Hatha Yoga and Meditation for eight years, and skateboarded for many years.
